Can't
connect to the internet:
First
make sure your computer is trying to access the internet
(making the modem noises) and make sure no one is on the
phone and that you hear a dial tone on that line.
If
it is trying to connect but it is telling you that the username
or password is incorrect it may be that your account has
lapsed. If you think this may be the case give us a call
(phone number available on the contact us page) to check
on the status of your account.
If
your computer is not trying to connect to us (not makeing
any noises) then:
Open up Internet Explorer
click on tools --> then go down to Internet Options
click on the connections tab
check to see if Always dial my default connection
is chosen
(if not, put a dot next to it)
Click apply
Click okay
Close Internet Explorer and try again
(this time you should hear it pick up and dial out)
Can't
send or receive e-mail:
Can
you browse the Internet?
If not reboot your computer and try again
If
you can browse the Internet but can't receive mail, make sure
the SMTP and POP3 settings are correct.
Outlook:
Click on tools
Go down to email accounts
View or change and existing email account
click change
Check the SMTP and POP3 Servers
both should read mail.ezeeweb.com
Outlook
Express:
Open Outlook Express
Click on tools
go down to accounts
click on mail tab
Click on properties
click on server tab
check the SMTP and POP3 Servers
both should read mail.ezeeweb.com
Any
Username And Password Error:
The main cause for this is trying to access the e-mail account
with the wrong username and/or password, or be caused by
a lapse of payment Call the helpdesk at 618-224-9710 to
check your username and password and/or account status.

Initialization Strings

Modems
In Windows 95, 98 or NT, the init string can be set in the
Extra Settings box under Modem Properties.
Go
to Start, Settings, Control Panel, Modems.
Highlight the modem and click on Properties.
Select the Connections tab and click on the Advanced button.
In the Extra Settings box, add the suggested init string for
your modem
The generic modem init string is:
AT+MS=11

IBM
Thinkpad:
An IBM Thinkpad 385-XD with a 02K4244/2688 LEU modem uses
the following string:
ATS32.6=1
This
will provide a connection at 28,800 baud.

Important
Note
Adding an initialization string to the modem affects all dial-up
connections. If you dial in to another Internet Service Provider
that does support 56K, you must remove this initialization
string in order to connect at maximum speed.
